I don’t know about you but there’s nothing I like more than a nice meal out on a Saturday night. The trouble is if you’re new to a city or are spoiled for choice in your own town it can be hard to choose a suitable venue. Step forward Google Earth. The popular planet-gazing app contains a feature for displaying restaurants on the map, which has just been updated to include reviews and photographs of eateries.
In order to access this useful tool you’ll need to delve into the Layers menu of the Program, which appears in a panel on the bottom-left of the interface. Here, you can turn on layers such as ‘Lodging,’ ‘Travel and Tourism,’ and ‘Shopping and Services’ to get the lowdown on those businesses in the area you’re viewing. To check out what’s for dinner simply tick the ‘Dining’ field and hey presto, you should see a multitude of knife and fork icons pop up. Now just hover each one to view the address and contact details along with ratings, reviews and pictures of what you can expect.
